Before you apply for membership have you:
IF A NEW INSPECTOR - Have you completed either a 40-hour home inspection training course and able to email two completed home inspection reports (non-fee based acceptable)?
IF A CURRENT EXPERIENCED INSPECTOR - Will you be able to email a copy of your home inspector Training Certificate and two recent complete home inspection reports? If an applicant does not have a Training Certificate, one will be required to email twenty (20) home inspection reports.
The National Association of Home Inspectors has three primary types of membership, Associate Members, Regular Members and NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspectors. You must meet certain qualifications for membership and your qualifications determine what membership type you should select.
(Please note that you will be required to submit home inspections reports (2) and proof of training PRIOR to being approved)
Associate Members: You must have completed a forty (40) hour comprehensive home inspection training program or completion of a minimum of twenty (20) full-paid home inspections.
Regular Members: You must have successfully completed the Associate Member requirements and completed 100 full fee-paid inspections and be able to provide written confirmation of passing the NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspector Exam, the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE) or the State Real Estate (SREI) Exam.
NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspectors NAHI-CRI: You must have successfully completed all Regular Member requirements and completed of a minimum of 250 full fee-paid inspections and be able to provide written confirmation of passing the NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspector Exam.
